“Nyojishin – Being yourself” Program
We are all wishing to live as we are, but it is difficult to pursue, isn’t it? Daisho-in’s Nyojishin Program takes systematic approach to make you realize your own esteem, expand and develop your own potential in due course. (Nyojishin means “Being yourself” “Like yourself”)You will experience a series of training programs such as Gomagyo, meditation, prayers, and more, which were brought into practice by the Buddhist monk Kukai. Why don’t you keep yourself away from the chaotic daily life, make you surrounded by the Japanese culture and history in Miyajima and have a dialogue with your mind together with the Daisho-in’s monk? We hope you will be filled with a beautiful joy to realize who you are.
This is recommended to those who have never tried these Buddhist training programs before.

After a prayer ritual, you will enjoy Japanese vegetarian cuisine, using fresh vegetables carefully grown in Miyajima. At the end of the program, you will get a temple’s special stamp book (“Goshuincho”) decorated with a precious piece of gold leaf, which is produced by a traditional company with more than 100 years of history in Hiroshima. Step.3 Gomagyo Program at Daisho-in
This plan is recommended for those who aim to further develop themselves or to pursue ultimate objectives. Special Gomagyo rituals will be conducted for the participants. The Gomagyo ritual is one of the most important trainings that has been handed down in ascetic Buddhism for 1200 years. You will press your hands together and chant sutra to concentrate on prayer, to burn out evil passions within yourself. Namikiri-Fudo-Myoo (wave-calming deity) is enshrined at “Chokugando”, the main hall of Daisho-in. It is widely known in Japan that the Shogun back in the late 16th Century (Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI) prayed to this Namikiri-Fudo-Myoo for the marine safety of his troops dispatched to Korea through the Seto-Inland Sea. This Gomagyo ritual will be conducted in front of the deity and the burning fire, so that you can get rid of any worldly thoughts, face yourself just as you are and make your mind calm and stable. It will give you different types of insights, if you are willing to change yourself or to learn about Miyajima that the monk knows, etc. *You can make an appointment for an English or Chinese speaking interpreter at JPY15,000 (tax included) as a separate fee.

We will burn Goma woods with this sacred Kiezu-no-hi, to borrow a mystic power of Mt. Misen, and help you set a new light within your heart.
